This section answers common questions / problems people have running BG3. Please read this before contacting us for Support.

Q: BG3 isn't starting up! I'm being told i'm missing [something].dll or [something].ocx!
A: Well, obviously, you need that DLL or OCX. Check out the list in the Installation / Usage section for a list of the DLLs you need. You can download most of them from http://www.novaslp.net

Q: My bot won't Connect! What can I do?
A: There's a lot of different reasons why your connection might not be working. Look at the Event Log on the main BG3 screen for details. For example:

- If it says "Failed version check", then the server requires you to have a more recent version of your application. Download the latest patch for your application, apply it, and retry your connection.
- If it says "CDkey declined", you're using a bad CD key.
- If it says "Password declined", you've got the wrong password for the account.
- If it says "Chat connection has been established" but never goes beyond that, check your server name / IP. Chances are it's either down or you've got it wrong.
- If at no point on the event history does it say "Listening for Bot Connection", then something is wrong with your BG3 config. You might be missing some info on the config screen, you might have a bad game client directory, or you might have an older version of BG3 that is no longer authorized to work.

Q: I'm getting "Binary Connection Closed10054The connection is reset by remote side"
A: You're probably IP-banned, aka Screwed. This happens when the server doesn't like you. It can happen because you got yourself banned from the server, because you've tried to fudge a connection too many times, because you tried to load a bunch of different games or bots at once, or because the server detected something bad or strange in your connection (like a spoofed address). Either way, the server don't wanna talk to you right now.

IP-bans don't generally last too long. Average length is a couple of hours. If you're on dialup, reconnecting to the internet can get around this sometimes, unless it's your CDkey that's been banned. In that case, you're probably in even deeper trouble. If you're Catholic, go to confession, see if that helps. Otherwise, wait it out.

Q: When I listen, i get the error: [6:06:40 PM]No BGkeys match the key you listed. Check your bgkey and make sure it is the one provided to you by your BG3 Admin. If you do not have a valid BGkey, you cannot connect using BG3.
A: This is our leak protection. If you've contacted a BG3 Admin and gotten an authorized BGkey, copy it and put it in the "bg code key" field in the Config screen. If it is still not working, take a screenshot of your config screen, put it in a Word document, and mail it to your BG3 admin for help.

If you don't have an authorized BGkey, then you can't connect your bots with BG3. If you think you have a good reason why you should be given a key, make a request Here

Q: I clicked Listen... but BG is just sitting there listening, doing nothing else! What's wrong?
A: First make sure you are using a bot that will work with BG3. If you are, here are three possible fixes:

1) BG is just a gateway, not a bot. Make sure you've got a bot, and that it's running.
2) If your bot program is open, make sure it's trying to Connect.
3) If you have clicked Connect and its still not working, close your bot, reopen it, and try again.
4) Make sure that the server your bot is connecting to is "127.0.0.1" or "localhost" (without the quotes). If the bot isn't trying to connect to its own computer, then BG3 won't pick up the connection.

Q: I don't have Starcraft/Warcraft/Diablo2! What does this mean for me?
A: You need to have a Starcraft, Warcraft 2, or Diablo 2 CD-key in order to use BG3. If you don't own Starcraft, Warcraft 2, Diablo 2, or another Blizzard product, what do you want a bot for? You can purchase a copy of one any of these games from Blizzard (www.blizzard.com) or from a local software store. Please note that although BG3 is a tool for use with Blizzard games, it neither hacks those games nor violates their license agreements. You do, however, need them for BG3. Blizzard wrote great games, pay them their due.

Q: Why do I recieve errors about "Failing Revision Check", or, BG3 does not want to login at all!
A: This is because your Starcraft, Warcraft 2, or Diablo 2 files are not up to date. If the server you use has a patch availiable for your files make sure you download it. Logging in should then work. You can do this by opening your game client and connecting to the server of your choice and downloading this patch, or from an applicable website.
